REFERRAL SERVICE
Referral service is provided when the information needed by a library user is not available within the library or falls outside the subject expertise of the institution. In such cases, users are guided to appropriate sources outside the library where the required information can be obtained. These external sources may include individuals, organizations, or specialized agencies capable of addressing the user’s information needs. Unlike other library services, referral service does not directly supply the requested documents or information. Instead, it connects users to reliable sources where the needed information is available.
-
Students who wish to visit other libraries and gather further information in their research work are helped by issuing a Referral Letter addressed to the Head Chief Librarian of the LRC that they will visit.
-
Only bona fide students of OLFU with a valid ID are entitled to this service.
-
ID must be presented upon request for a referral letter.
-
The LRC Campus Coordinator reserves the right to issue a letter to the requester if the information is readily available at OLFU libraries.
